2014 National Qualifying Tournament Results
After competition and practice on campus, HBCU teams competed at official National Qualifying Tournaments (NQTs) on Feburary 15-16.
We are most grateful to the host HBCUs for all they did to make it a great experience for the teams. They went above and beyond!
From the national field, 48 teams will qualify for the 25th annual National Championship Tournament in Torrance, California on April 12-16.
For the 2013-2014 season, the qualification process is:
The top teams from the NQTs automatically qualify: 1 team in a 1 division tournament, 2 teams in a 2 division tournament and 3 teams in a 3 division tournament -- 13 in all.
The balance of the field (35) will be selected. In addition to evaluating performance at the NQTs, due to the weather which prevented several HBCU teams from traveling, all teams registered for the NQTs will be considered. The 2014 Great 48 will be announced on Thursday, February 20th.
